About ProducerTube

ProducerTube collects the music-production videos producers keep telling each other to watch. Every video gets a plain title that says what it teaches, a frame from the middle of the video instead of the creator's thumbnail, and a reason to watch it. Browse by category, start with a collection, or use the filters on the home page.

How videos get in

We look for videos that real people have chosen to keep, over time. We call those people curators.

A video qualifies when at least 3 curators chose it, in at least 3 different months. The months rule stops a single burst of attention from counting as lasting value.

These counts are ProducerTube's own measure, not YouTube's. A playlist search returns a different sample of playlists each time, so we keep the highest count we've seen. The number on a video never goes down.

Editor's picks are videos the editor added because they're worth your time, even though they haven't met the curator threshold.

Collections are short, ordered lists the editor puts together by hand from videos already on the site, ten at most.

What this misses. Because we start from tutorial playlists, live sessions, magazine channels and newer creators show up less often than their reputation deserves. We're widening the topic list over time.

Write-ups

Titles, summaries and "why it's here" lines are drafted by AI (Anthropic's Claude) from each video's own title, description and chapters.

Sponsored videos

Sponsored means the creator was paid to feature a product, says the video is sponsored, or built it around something they sell. A sponsored video only gets in if curators chose it. The editor can't add one as an Editor's pick. Sponsored videos are labelled on their page.

When a video promotes something else, such as a course, presets, a cheat sheet or affiliate links, its page says so in a short note under the title line. These notes are written when the video is added, from its description.

Some older TV and radio clips are only on YouTube because a fan uploaded them. Their pages say so. If you hold the rights to one and want it removed, use the contact form and we'll take it down.

Learn on YouTube, listen at home

YouTube's audio is compressed and lossy, so use these videos to learn technique, and do your critical listening on your own lossless material and monitors.

Counting visits

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't record what you search for. Only we see the numbers. The privacy policy has the details.

Who runs it

ProducerTube is made by Blast-2 Music Group. There are no ads or paid placements on the site, and nobody pays to have a video included.
